Autistic brains think in systems


If we don't have a place to put something in the system we've set up in our brains, we won't remember it.


Which is why we have such a hard time retaining information that isn't directly relevant to us.


Examples...


- Names of people we just met


- Information others share about themselves


- General information that isn't of interest


This creates big problems for us socially. 


It's also why many of us struggle in school when learning subjects our brains just don't want to learn.


And I think it would help if more people understood this. 🙂
