Why disability supports are a necessity, not a luxury

Disability supports are not just helpful for disabled people. They are absolutely necessary for disabled people. 

Because without them, we are stuck using desperate, highly ineffective, and often harmful strategies… just to survive. 

And for many of us, survival just means staying alive. That’s it. We can’t even begin to think about thriving. 

And some of us can't even manage survival. Hence why our lifespans are significantly shorter (on average), according to the research.

Disability supports are not a “nice to have” for disabled people. They are literally a matter of life and death for many of us.

We are fighting for our lives here. Not looking for luxurious accommodations.
