Autism and allergies—what the research is saying

Ok, so let’s talk about Autism and allergies... 

I’ll do a longer post on this, but here are some of the research results on autism and allergies. A correlation definitely exists.

Overall analysis of IgE sensitization to common allergens showed a higher frequency in ASD children. 

It was 65.6% for autistic children versus 28.9% for the control group

Also, sensitization to house dust allergens (that’s me) and to food allergens of FP5 panel was more common in children with ASD. 

So, for dust allergens it was 46.87% for the autistic children in the study vs 21.05% for the control group, and for the food allergens it was 37.5% for the autistic children in the study vs. 13.16% for the control group. 

Those are significant numbers, if you ask me.
