"Autism is not an excuse for bad behavior"

We need to stop acting like truly bad behavior and different/misunderstood behaviors are the same thing when talking about autism.

Of COURSE truly bad behavior should not be excused just because a person is autistic. (An autistic person can be a bad human for plenty of reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with autism.)

But when autistic advocates explain common autistic behaviors that are often misunderstood and criticized... for all that is good and holy, please stop saying "autism is not an excuse" like there is something to excuse. 

Autism is an EXPLANATION. Excuses aren't needed because nothing wrong was done in the first place.
