10 signs you might have SPD

1. You sleep with a fan every night, even when it's freezing out

2. You flip your pillow 100 times a night because 2 seconds after you flip it, your face feels hot again

3. You struggle with personal hygiene, and you'd probably go a week without bathing if you didn't have to interact with other people

4. You can't tolerate soft gentle touch, or anything gently rubbing against your skin

5. You get massive anxiety from certain sounds, like snoring, vibration-y music, and lip smacking

6. You can hear sounds that no one else can hear and smell things that no one else can smell

7. You get massive anxiety when someone is shaking their leg within eyesight, but shake your own leg all the time

8. You simultaneously love the sun and hate the sun, love the rain and hate the rain

9. You are extremely particular about what you put on your body... clothes... makeup... socks... shoes... and you absolutely HATE washing your face

And...

10. You have ever been referred to as The Princess and the Pea 😆

*SPD = sensory processing disorder, which is a brain wiring difference that results in sensory over/under sensitivities. Sensory differences are often related to autism (as part of a diagnosis) but not always. When they're not due to autism, they're typically associated with SPD.
