All of these things currently exist *independently* as *established* concepts in the fields of psychology and neuroscience...
SOME of these things have been discussed at the same time and in relation to one another...
But not all... as in, not every single one of these things... at the same time... in the *same chain*...
This is what I am attempting to do...
Because as of 2026, these concepts are disconnected in autism research, education, and advocacy.
And I am trying to change that.
Which is why I've spent a great deal of time working through this causal chain... piece by piece... in detail... over the past week.
To explain exactly why and how I see these pieces fitting together... in one unifying theory.
That's the theory I've been presenting.
It's part of my larger theory of autistic self-actualization.
Because just like we can go *down* this chain, we can also go up... towards self-actualization.
Which is where I see us making the greatest impact in autism advocacy moving forward.
Focusing on how autistic people can move past survival and actually achieve self-actualization.
Because I believe it is absolutely achievable IF the right systems, structures, and supports are put into place for autistic people.
And though I've been calling it a theory... it's actually much more than that...
It's a paradigm shift.
The new paradigm being what I call the "autistic self-actualization paradigm" (ASAP)...
Which changes the entire way we look at and conceptualize autism.
I don't expect what I'm sharing to change autism advocacy overnight... but it's my mission to bring this clarity to anyone who's open to receiving it.
If that's you, I sincerely hope you find what I'm sharing valuable. (And if you do, I would love to know 🙏🏻)
Also, I'm putting all of my content related to autism and cPTSD into a free library on my website. I'm hoping to have it up later today or tomorrow. So if you're interested in that, stay tuned.
And I'm also a few weeks away from being able to open up my learning community (run by me on my website).
I have about 200 of you signed up, so I'm hoping it quickly becomes a space of mutual learning and growth. 🤍
If you're interested in that, you can sign up to be notified when I launch the community (sign up is on the community page on my website... I'll share the link below for those interested).
More soon...
And happy learning! 🙏🏻
P.s. For those unfamiliar with my work, I'm Nicole Filippone, autistic philosopher of human difference and translator of the human experience.
I have a formal background in philosophy, psychology, and learning science.
I'm currently focusing my work on synthesizing my cross-domain knowledge and expertise to better understand autistic cognition and the internal autistic experience.
If this type of content interests you, you are in the right place.
And, welcome. I'm glad you are here.😊🙏🏻
